Chi può proporre oggi un nuovo ordine di pace per il mondo? Di fronte ai dilaganti scenari di guerra, un necessario rilancio del diritto internazionale si impone oggi più che mai.

Sul contributo ad un nuovo ordine internazionale che possono dare i BRICS, che raggruppano oggi le dieci più dinamiche economie emergenti, si tiene sabato 28 giugno dalle 9:30 alle 18 in via XX Settembre 31 a Torino nel Salone d’Onore della Fondazione CRT un convegno di studi cui parteciperanno autorevoli giuristi di fama mondiale, tra i quali Roberto Mangabeira Unger, professore di Harvard e già ministro brasiliano per gli affari strategici nei governi Lula e Dilma.

Il convegno, in lingua inglese, dal titolo “The Political Economy of Law in BRICS+”, vedrà la partecipazione di studiosi e docenti da oltre venti Paesi, ed è promosso dall’International University College of Turin (IUC) in collaborazione con altre due scuole di diritto, la cinese Università di Lanzhou, e il centro studi di diritto civile della Federazione Russa “S.S. Alexeev”.

Dopo il saluto della Prof.ssa Anna Maria Poggi, Presidente della Fondazione CRT, i lavori saranno introdotti da una Lectio Magistralis del Prof. Unger, a cui nell’occasione sarà conferita una cattedra honoris causa presso lo IUC.

Con una folta presenza di studiosi dai Paesi BRICS, interverranno tra gli altri i professori Ugo Mattei (Unito e IUC), Liu Guanghua (Lanzhou), Lidia Mikheeva (Mosca), Aleksandar Stojanović e Tong Shijun (Shanghai), Kiya Tsegaye (Addis Abeba), Hamidreza Asimi (Iran), Talha Syed (Berkeley), Avi Singh (Nuova Delhi), Leopold Spect (Vienna), Nora McKeon (IUC), Golnoosh Hakimdavar (USAID), Saki Bailey (San Francisco), Rafael Zanatta e Mariella Pittari (São Paulo), Sanjay Reddy e Nidhi Srinivas (New School, New York), Christina Mosalagae (Pretoria), Christopher Gevers (Johannesburg), Eman El Rifai (Emirati Arabi), Petar Bojanić (Belgrado), Asress Adimi (Brunel, Londra).

PRESS RELEASE: BRICS IN THE NEW WORLD (DIS)ORDER

Who can propose a new order of peace for the world today? In the face of rampant war scenarios, a relaunch of international law is more important than ever.

On the contribution to a new international order by the BRICS, which today group together the ten most dynamic emerging economies, a conference of studies will be held on Saturday 28 June.

The conference will take place from 9:30 to 18:00 in Turin in the Hall of Honor of the CRT Foundation in via XX Settembre 31. Authoritative jurists of world renown will participate, including Roberto Mangabeira Unger, Harvard Professor and former Brazilian minister for strategic affairs in the Lula and Dilma governments.

The conference, entitled “The Political Economy of Law in BRICS+”, will see the participation of scholars and professors from over twenty countries, and is promoted by the International University College of Turin (IUC) in collaboration with two other law schools, the Chinese University of Lanzhou, and the “S.S. Alexeev” private law study center of the Russian Federation.

After the welcome address by Prof. Anna Maria Poggi, President of CRT Foundation, the works will be introduced by Prof. Unger’s Keynote, who on this occasion will be awarded an honorary chair at the IUC of Turin.
